Why this site exists

Most "free online tools" in 2024 uploaded your files to unknown servers, gated useful features behind paywalls, added watermarks, or bombarded you with ads. None of that is necessary. Modern browsers can merge PDFs, compress images, run OCR, and remove backgrounds without ever uploading a file. ToolzPedia is built on that premise: every tool runs locally, every tool is free, and every tool page explains how it actually works.

Mukhtiar Ali is the founder of ToolzPedia and the CEO of MetaMonu, a small independent software studio. He has spent his career building web applications, front-end, back-end, browser tooling, and the unglamorous infrastructure that makes free utilities actually usable at scale. He started ToolzPedia in 2025 out of frustration with the existing landscape of "free" online tool sites: most upload your files to unknown servers, gate basic features behind paywalls, plaster the interface with ads, or do all three. ToolzPedia is his attempt to build the opposite, a tools encyclopedia where every utility runs in your browser, your files never leave your device, and the writing actually explains what is happening rather than just selling you on a "Pro" upgrade. He personally writes and reviews every tool page, every blog post, and every methodology note on the site.

Privacy and how tools work

Every file-based tool processes your files entirely inside your browser using JavaScript or WebAssembly. No file is uploaded to ToolzPedia's server. You can verify this: open DevTools → Network tab → run any file operation. You'll see the initial page load and a one-time library download from a CDN, no POST request with your file, no server-side processing. Just local computation on your device.

ToolzPedia uses Google Analytics for aggregate page-view statistics and Google AdSense for advertising. Neither service receives your file contents. For full details see the Privacy Policy.

How content is written

Every tool page and blog post is researched, written, and reviewed by Mukhtiar Ali. Each tool is tested against real-world inputs before going live. The how-it-works sections are based on reading the source code of the underlying libraries and testing edge cases, not marketing copy or generated filler.
